Position Overview:
We are searching for a detail-oriented Manufacturing Buyer to manage end-to-end procurement activities in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will maintain optimal inventory levels, build effective relationships with suppliers and internal teams, and support production by ensuring timely availability of materials and services. This role is central to helping operations function smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
• Manage end-to-end procurement of machined and fabricated parts to support production needs.
• Maintain inventory levels and oversee purchase orders using the ERP system.
• Evaluate “make or buy” decisions based on cost, lead time, and available resources.
• Request and analyze supplier quotes, negotiating optimal pricing and contract terms.
• Collaborate with planning, engineering, and production teams to align purchasing activities with company goals.
• Monitor and assess supplier performance, ensuring on-time delivery and quality compliance.
• Forecast inventory demand and track market trends to inform procurement strategy.
• Identify and support opportunities for cost savings and process improvements across purchasing functions.
Required Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field required; relevant certifications (e.g., CPIM, APICS) preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of MRP/ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and familiarity with manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven organizational and time-management abilities in a fast-paced setting.
• Detail-oriented, strategic thinker, adaptable to change, and a collaborative team player.
