Kelly Services is partnering with Kennametal to fill several Production positions

Location: Orwell, OH

Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation: $19 on day shift, and $20 on 2nd/3rd shifts

8 hour shifts, and 12 hour shifts available
All Temp to Hire positions!


A Premier Manufacturing Client is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join their team at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Orwell, OH. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a respected industry leader known for its commitment to innovation, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process and final inspections, including physical properties testing, coating heat approval testing, and customer certification inspections.

  • Build and prepare heats for PVD coating furnaces by arranging inserts in predetermined fixtures in accordance with established procedures.

  • Visually inspect coated inserts using microscopes and ensure compliance with product and style specifications.

  • Record inspection results in the reporting system; approve or reject products based on established standards and tolerance requirements.

  • Operate additional manufacturing equipment as training allows and scan relevant production information.

  • Conduct routine maintenance, including cleaning fixtures, base plates, replacing gas tanks, and performing batch cleaning at appropriate intervals.

  • Maintain proper documentation throughout the production process and communicate shift-related information.

  • Comply with all safety protocols, operate in a clean and controlled environment, and assist in daily housekeeping.

  • Collaborate across teams to achieve daily departmental production goals and communicate any quality or safety concerns.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Proficiency with measuring devices, gauges, and ability to interpret blueprints, insert drawings, routings, and operating procedures.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, SAP MII, and Access Databases preferred.

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong safety orientation.

  • Able to sit or stand up to eight hours per shift, with periodic walking, reaching, and lifting insert trays/boxes up to 33 pounds.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Controlled temperature manufacturing facility with dust collection systems.

  • Personal protective equipment required (safety glasses with side-shields, safety shoes, gloves as needed).
