General Labor Material Handler – Pooler, GA
Position: Material Handler (General Labor)
Location: Pooler, GA
Pay Rate: $16/hour (increase to $17/hour after 90 days & direct hire)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Some overtime may be required)
Lunch Break: 30 minutes
About the Role
Join our dynamic warehouse team as a Material Handler, where you’ll play a key role in supporting the movement and organization of large, heavy materials. If you enjoy hands-on work, keeping busy, and contributing to a smooth and safe operation, we want to hear from you!
Candidates must be able and willing to unload trailers, build boxes, and take on various other warehouse duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload incoming shipments by hand, pallet jack, or cart, including unloading trailers.
- Build boxes and prepare materials as needed.
- Load outgoing shipments safely, ensuring proper handling every time.
- Rework, relocate, and organize items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Assist with general warehouse upkeep: sweeping, trash removal, and organizing aisles.
- Support team members by prepping loads for shipping (no order picking required).
- Take on various other warehouse duties to support smooth operations.
- Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace to promote safety for all.
- Identify and report damaged goods or safety issues to supervisors.
- Follow established procedures and safety standards for lifting and moving items.
- Occasionally support packing operations as needed.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Previous general labor or warehouse experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with packing and shipping processes is helpful.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable attendance and attention to detail, especially regarding safety.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to bend, squat, reach, and stand for an 8-hour shift.
- Comfortable working in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse (with large doors for airflow).
- Dress code: Tennis shoes with covered ankles, jeans, and standard warehouse wear.
