Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Production Technician III to support advanced electromechanical assemblies and systems. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and experience troubleshooting software, electrical, and mechanical components. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, a sense of ownership, and an aptitude for learning and working with Motion Control, Vision, and Robotics systems.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced software, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting

  • Execute cold checks, hot checks, pull tests, configure devices, upload firmware/software, and conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) per engineering and customer requirements

  • Troubleshoot new and existing products on the production floor or in the field using electrical schematics and assembly drawings

  • Troubleshoot various software platforms (SMI, AB PLC, safety designer, motion controller, etc.) and assign parameter settings per customer requirements

  • Design and implement test plans/methods for electromechanical devices and assemblies, providing results to engineering

  • Create documentation for builds to support production volumes

  • Work collaboratively with Engineering on first article builds; report and provide preliminary corrective actions for project-related issues

  • Communicate effectively with team members and customers

  • Assist with production builds: cable assemblies, wiring systems, panels, software development, basic mechanical assemblies

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, setting deadlines and reporting status updates to Production Manager, Production Technician team, Project Manager, and Applications Engineers

  • Maintain high-quality standards and customer-first attitude

  • Research, specify, and purchase alternative parts as needed for projects

  • Provide field service and support with a high level of customer interaction

  • Perform repetitive tasks and sit or stand for extended periods

  • Travel occasionally to support customers

  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly work as needed

  • Maintain a tidy, safe, and clean work environment

  • Comply with quality standards and all established safety procedures

Qualifications & Experience

  • IPC 620 and UL508A knowledge or training highly preferred

  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency

  • Self-motivated, self-directed, team player spirit

  • Uphold Kelly Services values, ethics, quality, and confidentiality

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly proficient computer user

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Technical school and/or 3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Motion control system experience is a plus

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Lean Manufacturing/5S is a plus
