R&D Technician – Materials Compatibility
Location: Pomona, CA | 100% Onsite
Pay: $28–$30/hour, based on relevant skills and experience
Type: Six-month contract; potential to extend or convert to full time based on performance and business needs
Schedule: Monday–Friday, generally 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Kelly Engineering is seeking an R&D Technician to support hands-on materials compatibility testing in a healthcare-product laboratory. This is a great opportunity for someone with laboratory experience who enjoys detailed, practical work and wants to build experience in R&D and product development.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform hands-on material compatibility testing on plastics and medical-device materials.

  • Follow established test protocols and document experiments, observations, and results accurately.

  • Prepare reports, methods, and SOPs.

  • Support lab operations, including ordering materials, reagents, samples, and shipping.

  • Maintain a safe, organized laboratory environment.

Must-Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience in a chemistry, materials, or engineering laboratory.

  • Comfortable performing repetitive, protocol-driven testing.

  • Strong written documentation skills and basic Microsoft Excel proficiency.

  • Able to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple tasks.

  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.

  • Able to work fully onsite in Pomona, CA.
