Shift: Mon-Fri l 6:30AM-3:00PM

Temporary opportunity: October to January

What’s a typical day as Quality Control Lab Technician? You’ll be:

• Performing lab preparation activities and analyses to maintain quality and safety of food products.
  

• Receiving and testing incoming raw materials including flavors, bulk sugar, and packaging.
  

• Conducting analytical and organoleptic tests of finished products.
  

• Performing start-up checks of the production line, monitoring quality throughout production runs.
  

• Testing finished products for quality and assisting with batch adjustments as needed.
  

• Maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies and notifying purchasing when needed.
  

• Calibrating laboratory equipment daily and maintaining laboratory record keeping and documentation.
  

• Performing microbiological and ATP testing of finished goods, raw materials, and environmental/food contact equipment.
  

• Ensuring compliance with GMPs, GLPs, and SSOPs and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  

• Communicating across departments to support quality and food safety.
  

• Identifying and reporting food safety risks to production and quality management.
  

• Performing other duties as assigned.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Hold an A.S. or B.S. degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
  

• Have 1+ years of experience in a laboratory environment.
  

• Possess strong mathematical skills, reading comprehension, and proficiency in computer systems (Excel, Word, Windows, Database Systems).
  

• Are detail-oriented and able to discern variation in color, taste, and aroma.
  

• Can work in a fast-paced environment and positively respond to changing workload and duties.
  

• Can stand, reach, walk, stoop, push, pull, lift, and carry up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  

• Are comfortable with continuous standing/walking, climbing, and balancing on ladders.
