Quality Complaints Specialist
Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Quality Complaints Specialist for our client, a leader in the medical device industry, in Clearwater, Florida. Schedule: On-site, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Length of assignment: Through the end of 2027
Pay rate: $25.00 per hour
The Quality Complaints Specialist will support the investigation, evaluation, and documentation of customer complaints involving medical-device products. This position will perform detailed product assessments, including visual inspections of returned products and microscopic examinations, while ensuring all activities comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), ISO 13485, company procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
The Specialist will work closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Customer Service, and other cross-functional teams to evaluate product concerns, identify potential trends, support root-cause investigations, and ensure complete and accurate complaint records.
Responsibilities
- Log product evaluation requests received from internal and external complaints.
- Conduct detailed product inspections, including microscopic examinations when required, to evaluate complaint reasons.
- Document inspection findings in the electronic system using photographs, measurements, test results, and clear technical observations.
- Review complaint information, product history, manufacturing documentation, test results, and related records to support thorough investigations.
- Ensure complaint records are complete, accurate, technically sound, and finalized within established timelines.
- Identify and communicate potential product or quality trends.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with personnel at the Clearwater site and other Bausch + Lomb departments.
- Assist with additional quality activities, including product release and incoming inspection, as needed.
- Work under general supervision, exercising sound judgment and maintaining overall accuracy and adequacy of completed work.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of experience in the medical-device industry or another highly regulated industry, such as:
- Quality, Regulatory, Complaint Handling, Post-Market Surveillance, Manufacturing Quality and lab operations
- Direct experience reviewing, evaluating, investigating, inspecting, or processing products in a regulated manufacturing or complaint-evaluation setting.
- Hands-on experience using a microscope for product review or inspection in a laboratory, manufacturing, quality, or medical-device environment.
- Ability to perform detailed visual inspections and document objective observations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and sound judgment when evaluating product and quality information.
- Ability to work independently with direction and minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s, bachelor’s, or advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience using electronic quality-management or complaint-management systems.
- Familiarity with cGMP, ISO 13485, and applicable medical-device regulations.
