Job Title: Assembly Operator I

Location: Fairview, NC 28730
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Pay Rate: $17.61/hour
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire


Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assembly Operator I to join our manufacturing team in Fairview, NC. This role supports the production of relays and switches for the aerospace industry through precision component assembly and inspection.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn, works well in a team environment, and demonstrates strong attention to detail. This position requires the use of microscopes, hand tools, and adherence to detailed work instructions to ensure high-quality production standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble components using small hand tools and fixtures

  • Inspect own work using quality standards, work instructions, and product prints

  • Perform pull tests as required for specific operations

  • Measure components using calipers, gauges, and other precision tools

  • Complete production documentation to maintain product traceability

  • Read and follow blueprints and work instructions accurately

  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic repairs as needed

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area

  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines (EH&S)

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support production needs

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred

  • Basic computer skills preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings preferred

  • Experience using measuring tools such as calipers and gauges preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to support production goals

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time

  • Ability to operate machinery and move between workstations

  • Ability to work with small components, including use of a microscope

  • Must be able to read and understand written instructions in English
