Job Title: Assembly Operator I
Location: Fairview, NC 28730
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Pay Rate: $17.61/hour
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assembly Operator I to join our Fairview, NC facility. This role supports the production of relays and switches for the aerospace industry through precision component assembly and inspection.
The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong desire to learn, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality products. This position requires working with small components using microscopes, hand tools, and detailed work instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble components using small hand tools and fixtures
- Inspect own work using quality standards, work instructions, and product prints
- Perform pull tests as required for specific operations
- Measure components using calipers, gauges, and other precision tools
- Complete production documentation to ensure product traceability
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic repairs as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and EH&S guidelines
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support production needs
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 6 months of manufacturing experience required
- Basic understanding of manufacturing principles (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity)
- Basic computer skills preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints preferred
- Experience using measuring devices (calipers, gauges, etc.) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time
- Ability to operate machinery and move between workstations
- Ability to work with small components, including use of a microscope
- Must be able to read and understand written instructions in English
